At the heart of Scenic Rim Earthmoving is its employees and of course our clients and we spend alot of time and effort maintaining a safe work environment for everyone.  Our business works on a continual improvement basis, and we work hard to maintain the highest standards in all areas of operation.

 

 

 

OH&S  Guidelines

Scenic Rim Earthmoving believes that for a safe working environment to be achieved, all staff must be empowered to contribute to the safety management process.  We believe that through open and honest communication with both staff and our clients we are able to constantly improve on safety and maintain a productive and efficient workplace, achieving the best possible results for our valued clients and staff here at Scenic Rim Earthmoving.

We take a proactive approach to Occupational Health and Safety and use a series of OH&S tools to identify and control hazards before they result in injury or damage.

As a minimum standard Scenic Rim Earthmoving abides by all relevant regulations and Acts and strives to achieve 'higher standards than legally required.  

 

 

Safety Meetings

We hold monthly meetings with all staff, and during these meeting all staff are given equal opportunity to contribute to these meetings, we draw from our staffs wealth of knowledge and their ideas to constantly refine, update and upgrade our safety processes.

All staff are also required to conduct a 'Daily Checklist' prior to commencing work whether it be on our premises or onsite.  These checks are either conducted with the principal contractor or if the operator is working alone they still are required to conduct the daily checklist and our '10 point check' in order to identify and consider any risks for the site. 

Site Assessments

All staff are randomly selected to be assessed while working on sites.  These steps not only ensures that the operator is conforming to all of Scenic Rim Earthmovings policies and procedures but also to ensure that the operators skill sets are consistantly developing.

 

 

Safe Work Procedures

Scenic Rim Earthmoving has invested a significant amount of time and money in developing a comprehensive set of 'Safe Work Method Procedures and Statements' for all of our regular activities and all staff are well versed in these procedures and participate in regular reviews.

All operator and staff are also provided with blank site risk assessment forms, ensuring that specific hazards are identified and controlled.

Personal Protective Equipment

All staff are supplied with PPE required to safely conduct their jobs.  As a minimum standard Scenic Rim Eathmoving requires the use of high visability shirts, hard hats, safety glasses, hearing protection, hats and sunscreen.  All site specific requirements are met at all times by our company.  And all staff are trained in the correct use and care of PPE and are able to supply this equipment at all times.

 

Induction Procedures

The Scenic Rim Earthmoving Safety System begins at the first appointment of an employee.

All employees are briefed on our Policies and Procedures and expectations and provided with an overview of all relevant Acts and Regulations.  All of our employees/operators are inducted and then assessed for competency with our equipment and all prior to being sent out onsite regardless of whether they hold all the relevant tickets, this ensures their skill level is of the highest standard.
